I was travelling through that day. 3 hour traffic to get through Jaco. Everyone was was dumping their imperial beers on the street and on the sand. I met a bunch of girls that didnt want to go to Jaco because the place is rough and not safe for them..

Billabong should do more to promote beach/community cleaniness, especially in developing countries were education is needed. Should have teamed up more with the Surf Federation of CR
After the event, the visitors left Jaco/Hermosa a complete disaster- Trash everywhere!! Really sad and frustrating.
The competitions and community awareness against contamination should go hand in hand.
We need to start now! HAY QUE EDUCAR A TODOS.
